Many years ago I fell in love with a poem called The Ravens Caw by the talented writer and poet Fritz O'Skennick. So I asked him if I could use his words and create an acoustic folk piece out of it for which he agreed.
So, rather than record it in my fancy studio at the time I chose to use a really old camcorder, put a mic in the room and just play the acoustic and sing the song in one take :) You can hear the whirring noises of the old camcorder as I play the song which gave it a rough and ready feel which is what I was after for the song. I was most pleased with the take and decided I would never go back and record it pristine in my studio as it would be rather pointless. The two middle tracks of the E.P are some bluesy and ambient instrumentals and the final track being Amazing Grace which was played on my Shonky Necrocaster guitar by ShonkyMusicalInstruments.
